| Intriguingly designed to hug the slope on which it stands, Villa Iris at first sight resembles a cluster of weathered traditional buildings featuring wood, stone and plaster, entirely sympathetic to its setting. Surrounded by a beautiful garden with an unbroken expanse of lawn easing gently downhill, the villa is very private and not overlooked at all. The living area and kitchen are centred at the heart of the house, where a comfortable sitting area connects through a huge window with the covered terrace. The views down to the sea are sublime, a reminder that some of the island’s finest beaches are only a short drive away. Below the terrace is the lovely swimming pool, and bedrooms are housed at either end of the villa and open on to the pool terrace. All bedrooms have en suite facilities. Cala di Volpe is set in a very prestigious residential area but the size of the garden and the sheltering trees make it hard to believe that there are in fact any neighbours. For upbeat relaxation, people-watching and smart shopping, Porto Cervo is not far away, and the exclusive Pevero Golf Club is also nearby |
