| With his own family in mind, the owner of Il Cappero carefully restored the two trulli houses between olive groves and vineyards, planting vegetables and fruit trees, creating a pretty garden and pool area, surrounded by his own agricultural land. The thick curved walls of overlapping limestone slabs, ensure the trulli houses stay cool during the hot summers. Inside each one, arched ceilings and alcoves, with painted tiles, beautiful African chairs and pretty cushions add splashes of colour to the fresh white interiors. Furnishings are simple and stylish yet understated. Guests will also love the selection of interesting books which reflect the owner’s interest in history, world cultures and the region. Each house with its own unique appeal is surrounded by fruit trees and pots of flowers. Pathways from the houses lead to a private and refreshing oval shaped pool surrounded by rosemary, olive trees, terracotta pots and urns. |
