Es Cubells is located in Sant Josep, the largest municipality on the island. To the east, it shares Platja d'en Bossa (beach) with Eivissa, and Sant Antoni's Bay to the West.
Sant Josep offers a good sized town, with small and peaceful villages such as Es Cubells, Sant Jordi and Sant Agustí are quaint with beautiful churches.
The regions coastline, (80km) is home to a number of important tourist resorts and picturesque coves such as: Pitiusas, Cavallet, Ses Salines, Cala Jondal, Cala d'Hort, Cala Carbó, Cala Vedella, Cala Tarida, and Platges de Comte. In addition are the traditional fishermen communities of Porroig, es Xarco, sa Caleta, Cala Llentrisca, and Cala Corral. The coastline offers cliffs and islets, such as Vedrà, es Vedranell, sa Conillera, s'Espartà, s'Illa des Bosc, and ses Bledes, which create spectacular views.
There are protected areas for nature lovers; Ses Salines and d'es Vedrà natural parks and the islets of es Vedranell and Islotes de Poniente.
Important areas to visit are the defensive towers; the Pirate Tower in Cala d'Hort, the tower of d'en Rovira (in Platges de Comte) and the Carregador tower (near Ses Salines). Archaeological sites in the region include Sa Caleta's Phoenician village (7 B.C.), founded by the islands first settlers (declared a World Heritage site), and Ses Païses de Cala d'Hort, a Punic-Roman settlement.
The highest woodland of the region - Sa Talaia (475m high), is to be found in the region offering one of the best views on the island.

Es Cubells is surrounded by a variety of beaches, nearby you will find:
Cala des Cubells: Shingle beach with moderate waves (600m long, 30m deep). Here you can hire sunbeds, enjoy the fantastic view of Parroig and is a popular spot for Scuba-diving.
Playa de les Ovelles: Shingle beach with calm waters (100m long, 20m deep), an unspoilt cove between Es Cubellis and sa Caixota coves.
Es Cuco: Shingle beach with moderate waves (70m long, 15m deep), this is a well maintained tourist beach with crystal clear water. Here you can try water sports such as Scuba Diving, sailing and kayaking.
Sa Caixota: Shingle beach with moderate waves (400m long, 20m deep), sheltered between two low cliffs, the beach boasts lovely views from this horeshoe bay. Here you can try Scuba diving, sailing, water-skiing and fishing.
Cala de Parroig: Shingle beach with calm waters (150m long, 20m deep), a quiet fishing beach with boats anchored along the shore. Here you can try Scuba-diving, sailing and water skiing.
