The village of Benahavis is surrounded by natural parkland which gives it a cosy, cocooned feel and is affectionately know as the dining room of the Costa del Sol due to it enjoying the highest concentration of high class restaurants in the region. There are numerous golf course close by, with one of the newest and finest to be found at Los Arqueros. You are also just a short distance from Andalucia’s beautiful coast with its stretches of sandy beach.

Beaches

From Benahavis, travel down to the coast to a variety of beaches, which include:

Guadalmina

A selection of coves spread across the coastline, the black volcanic beach (1.7km long, 10m deep) offers moderate waves.

Puerto Banus

Close to the marina, the white sandy beach (200m long, 40m deep) offers calm waters and various local services and amenities.

Water Sports: Available during the Summer.

Promenade: Flanked by palm trees, with ramps to the sand.

Nearby: Exclusive shopping and a mini golf course.

Events and festivals

January 5th - Cabalgata de Los Reyes (Three Holy Kings/Wise Men). Traditional Spanish celebrations.

February 28th - Andalucia Day. A public holiday for the Andalucia Region

Semana Santa (Holy Week) - Religious events & processions leading up to Easter weekend.

Good Friday - The statues of the Virgin Mary and Christ are taken in a procession through the town.

Mid August (usually between the 11th & 15th) - Annual Fair, held in honour of Virgen del Rosario, the towns patron saint.

October 6th & 7th - A pilgrimage to small mountain church where the village gathers and visits the Chapel.
