The largest of the British Virgin Islands, Tortola is an island of contrasting scenery ranging from dramatic hillsides falling into the clearest waters to curved white beaches fringed with palms. The capital, Road Town, is the administration and business centre of the islands with a wealth of yacht marinas, promenades, shops, restaurants and good night life, albeit laid back, Caribbean style.
