South Africa

Destination Information

Few holiday destinations can offer the sheer diversity of experiences to be found in South Africa. With eleven official languages, the most amazing wildlife experiences, awe-inspiring scenery, excellent wine and food and high standards of accommodation, it has something for everyone.

Our new programme of boutique hotels and villas in South Africa focuses on the Western Cape and Cape Town, the oldest city in South Africa, which is blessed with a stunning natural location and a Mediterranean climate. It is a dynamic city that is European in culture but African in mood, a city that has a growing reputation for its restaurants, arts, beaches, sports facilities and quality of life.

Inland, less than an hour to the north east of the city, are the winelands, and here you will find some of the world’s most sublime countryside in the rolling landscapes of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Classic Cape Dutch mansions nestle amongst the vineyards beneath towering peaks, and there are plenty of opportunities to sample the local excellent vintages.

East from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth runs the Garden Route, a spectacular coastline of sandy bays, windswept cliffs, forests and river valleys, and just north of Port Elizabeth we are featuring the private Shamwari Game Reserve and a chance to see the ‘Big Five’ at close quarters. Further afield in Mpumalanga province in the north east of the country, on the edge of the Kruger Park, we also feature the exclusive Ulusaba private game reserve.

Table Mountain – a must for every visitor – can be ascended on foot or by cable car, and there is a choice of glorious white sandy beaches washed by the Atlantic where you will find some of our finest villas in South Africa: Villa Lara in sleepy Llandudno, Villa Blanc on Glen Beach and Tranquility in trendy Camps Bay.

These are merely the highlights of our immensely varied and exciting programme of. We are in a position to arrange tailor-made holidays for you that combine our hotels and villas in South Africa with tours that take in as much or as little as you wish of this 'world in one country'.
